The Foundation’s Signature Event:
The YP Championship
Young Pro Championship & Pro-Am
The YP Championship recognizes our YPs for their accomplishments, their future professional plans, and how Friars can support them via relationship building, introductions, awareness, and other support opportunities.
The presence of the Young Pros presents a rare chance for Friars and Young Pros alike to come together, play with aspiring touring pros, enjoy each other’s company, and learn from each other.
This annual event is an essential catalyst for galvanizing Friars' support for the Foundation’s mission and our YPs. It further reinforces the YPs' understanding of the value of being Friars and their commitment to performing charitable works. It provides an opportunity to interact with our title sponsor, Youth on Course. The value of these interactions is clear from the feedback from YPs and Friars who attended the YP Championship and Pro-Am.
2025 Champion
Nine YPs competed for the title of 2025 Champion, with Timmy Crawford, new-join Class of ’25, prevailing on the first hole of sudden death to win the title, and the winner’s share of the $22.5K purse up for grabs. Ryan Siegler won the inaugural title of Alumni Champion.
Partnerships
The work of the Friars Golf Foundation would simply not be possible without the commitment and support of our primary partners - The Friars Golf Club and Youth on Course.
We would like to acknowledge and thank our partners for their ongoing support in helping the Foundation pursue activities and events that advance our mission every day.
“The core purpose of Youth on Course is simple, yet transformative: provide youth with access to life-changing opportunities through golf. We make this possible by ensuring members have access to play rounds of golf for $5 or less, while also offering opportunities to succeed through college scholarships, mentorships, internships, and leadership development, all while forging lifelong connections.”
Given Youth on Course's stated mission, the complementarity and synergies between the Foundation and Youth on Course are stronger than ever. Youth on Course has quickly become a key beneficiary and supporter of the Foundation’s efforts.
As the Foundation works to channel the efforts of our YPs to perform charitable works, Youth on Course has provided a natural platform. Through a series of fundraisers called 100-Hole Hikes, Youth on Course enables avid golfers to raise money by playing 100 holes in a day with the support of sponsors and donors. In 2024, many of our Young Pros and dozens of Friars participated in 100-hole hikes across the United States, raising over $60,000 to benefit Youth on Course and support the mission of promoting youth golf.
Youth on Course also serves as the title sponsor for the Young Pros Championship and ProAm, providing the Foundation with a significant portion of the purse for which the Young Pros compete. We are deeply grateful to Steve Martin and his colleagues at Youth on Course for their support of the event.
